How to add Stories
ConvertX Stories let you display short vertical videos directly on your product pages to boost trust, engagement, and conversion.
They work like Instagram stories and are perfect for:
Influencer videos
UGC content
Product demonstrations
Social proof
Stories customization overview
The Stories editor is split into two main areas:
Left panel
Three tabs:
Content
Style
Conditions
Right panel
Live preview of the stories on a selected product
Any change you make is instantly reflected in the preview.
Content tab
The Content tab defines what your stories show and where they appear.
Name & targeting
Module name
Internal name used inside ConvertX.Targeted products
All products
Specific products
Specific collections
Adding stories
Stories are built using videos from your Shopify Files library.
Click “Add a story”
Add a new story block.
Select a video
Choose a video from your Shopify media library.
Configure the story
Set:
Title
Badge (optional)
Sound on launch
Only videos from the Shopify Files library can be used for Stories.
Story badge (Verified)
Each story can display a verified badge next to its title.
Use this badge for:
Influencer content
Creator videos
Trusted sources
The badge visually reinforces trust and authenticity.
Video format requirements
Stories are always rendered in vertical format.
Best practices:
Use vertical videos (9:16)
Avoid horizontal or square videos
Short and punchy content performs best
Style tab
The Style tab controls the appearance of your stories.
You can customize:
Title size, weight, and color
Story container size
Border width and spacing
Gradient colors
Watermark display (depending on plan)
Use gradients and spacing that match your theme for a native look.
Conditions tab
The Conditions tab lets you control when stories are displayed.
Currently available:
Device targeting (depending on your plan)
Some conditions require an upgrade to Essential or Premium.
Publish Stories
Once your stories are ready, click Publish.
After publishing:
The Stories module is saved
It is not automatically placed on the product page
Add Stories to a product page
Stories must be placed manually using an App Block.
Click “Add to a product page”
From the success message, click Add to a product page.
Open the Theme Editor
You are redirected to the Shopify theme editor.
Add the ConvertX App Block
On the product page:
Add an App Block
Select ConvertX Stories
Place the block
Place the stories where you want them to appear on the product page.
Save changes
Click Save.
Stories work best near the top of the product page.
Set a custom thumbnail
To define a custom thumbnail for a story video:
Go to Shopify Files
Navigate to Shopify Admin → Content → Files.
Edit the video
Click Edit on the video you want.
Set the thumbnail
Choose and save your custom thumbnail.
The thumbnail is controlled entirely by Shopify.
Common issues
Make sure:
The Stories module is published
The App Block is added to the product page
You saved the theme
Ensure your video is vertical (9:16).
Autoplay sound depends on browser policies.
Use short videos and clear visuals.
Best practices
Use influencer or UGC videos
Keep stories short (5–15 seconds)
Use the verified badge for creators
Always use vertical videos
