Create & Activate your first module
ConvertX storefront features fall into three product families:
- Modules
- Widgets
- Sections
They all start from the ConvertX dashboard, but they do not all use the same activation flow. This guide helps you choose the correct path from the start.
ConvertX uses Shopify-native surfaces: App Embed, App Blocks, and theme sections. No manual code editing is required.
Before you start
Make sure that:
- ConvertX is installed
- The ConvertX App Embed is enabled in the active theme
- You know which feature family you want to use
If you are unsure, start with a single product-page feature and verify it live before enabling more modules.
Choose the right activation flow
Use the matching flow below:
- Modules: Bundles, Upsells, Stories, Sticky Add to Cart, Payment Icons, Cart Drawer
- Widgets: Product Benefits, Product Highlights, Stock Indicator, Estimated Delivery Date, Trust Icons, Product Badge
- Sections: Testimonials Carousel, Image + Text Highlight, Before/After Comparison
Create your first module
Modules are the main conversion features inside ConvertX.
Open the Modules area
From the ConvertX dashboard, choose the module you want to create.
Configure the module
Adjust content, style, targeting, and advanced settings in the editor.
Publish the module
Save the module as active when the configuration is ready.
Place it correctly
If the module uses an App Block, open the Shopify Theme Editor and place it in the product template.
Placement rules for modules:
- Bundles, Upsells, Stories, and Payment Icons require an App Block on the product page
- Sticky Add to Cart uses the App Embed and does not require a product page App Block
- Cart Drawer uses the App Embed and storefront cart triggers rather than product-page block placement
If a module requires an App Block and the block is not placed in the Shopify template, the module will not appear even when it is published.
Activate your first widget
Widgets are lightweight product-page elements. In the app, they may also be referred to internally as snippets.
Open the Widgets area
Choose the widget you want to use from the ConvertX dashboard.
Unlock or enable it
Make the widget available for your store.
Open the Theme Editor
Add the widget App Block to the product template where you want it to appear.
Save the template
Confirm placement and save the theme.
Common widget placements:
- Above the Add to Cart button
- Below the Add to Cart button
- Near shipping, reassurance, or buying information
Add your first section
Sections are added to a Shopify theme first, then inserted like native theme sections inside the Theme Editor.
Open the Sections area
Select a ConvertX Section from the dashboard.
Choose a theme
Select the Shopify theme that should receive the section file.
Add the section to the theme
ConvertX injects the section file into the selected theme.
Open the Theme Editor
Add the new section like any other Shopify section and place it where you want.
Sections are plan-dependent. If the section is locked in the dashboard, the store plan does not currently include it.
Troubleshooting
Check whether it needs an App Block or only the App Embed. Then confirm the placement was saved in the correct theme template.
Open the live theme in Shopify and repeat the setup there. App Blocks, embeds, and sections are theme-specific.
Use modules for conversion features, widgets for compact product-page content, and sections for larger theme sections. If the feature appears in the product template sidebar, it usually uses an App Block.
Best practices
- Start with one feature family at a time
- Verify the live storefront after every placement change
- Keep the App Embed enabled before testing any published feature
- Use dedicated guides for each module, widget, or section once the first setup is complete
