Cart Drawer troubleshooting

If the ConvertX Cart Drawer is not behaving correctly, the issue usually comes from activation, theme cart triggers, module configuration, or storefront testing conditions.

Quick checklist

  • The ConvertX App Embed is enabled

  • Cart Drawer is active in ConvertX

  • You are testing on the correct live theme

  • The theme has visible cart links or cart buttons

  • The relevant drawer sections or footer modules are enabled

Common issues

The Cart Drawer does not open

Check:

  • The ConvertX App Embed is enabled

  • Cart Drawer is active

  • The storefront cart icon or cart trigger is present

  • You are not testing inside the wrong theme preview

Shipping Protection is missing

Check:

  • The Shipping Protection module is enabled in the footer

  • A valid product is linked in ConvertX

  • The linked product is available in Shopify

Recommended products are missing

Check:

  • The Recommended Products section is enabled

  • The recommendation source can actually return products

  • The drawer is not so crowded that the section is pushed too far below the fold

Additional revenue is not tracked

Cart Drawer additional revenue is only attributed when shoppers add revenue-generating drawer offers such as recommended products or shipping protection.

A drawer view alone does not generate additional revenue. The shopper must accept a revenue-generating drawer offer.

The drawer conflicts with the theme cart

Some themes have their own cart drawer patterns or custom cart logic. Test cart open, cart refresh, quantity update, and checkout behavior on the live storefront after every major Cart Drawer change.

Troubleshooting FAQ

Most often, the App Embed is disabled in the current theme or the storefront is using another theme than the one you configured.

Review the enabled state and order of sections and footer modules in the editor. Also verify any linked products used by drawer modules.

Reduce the number of active drawer modules and keep only the sections that materially support checkout completion or relevant upsells.

Best practices

  • Test the full cart flow after every major Cart Drawer edit

  • Keep drawer modules focused and easy to scan

  • Review analytics after changes instead of judging only by appearance
