How to add Stories

ConvertX Stories let you display short vertical videos on Shopify product pages. They are designed for UGC, creator content, product demonstrations, and other visual proof that supports the buying decision.

Stories require the ConvertX App Embed and a product page App Block in the Shopify Theme Editor.

How Stories work

Stories are displayed as tappable or clickable story cards on the product page. Shoppers can open them, watch the video, and continue toward purchase without leaving the page.

Stories are especially useful for:

  • UGC and creator content
  • Product demos
  • Before purchase reassurance
  • Explaining features visually

Before you start

Make sure that:

  • The ConvertX App Embed is enabled
  • Your videos are available in Shopify files
  • The current product is included in the targeting rules

Stories perform best with vertical video content in a 9:16 format.

Stories editor overview

The Stories editor is built around:

  • Content for story entries and targeting
  • Style for layout and visual customization
  • Conditions for display rules such as device targeting
  • A live preview panel

You can configure:

  • Story title
  • Badge or trust indicator
  • Video selection
  • Sound behavior
  • Sizing, spacing, borders, and gradients

Build your story set

For each story, you can:

  • Select a video from Shopify files
  • Set a title
  • Add optional badge text
  • Control the visual presentation in the story list

Stories rely on the Shopify file or video source you selected. If the asset is removed or replaced, the storefront story can break.

Publish and place Stories

Publish the Stories module
Save the story set as active in ConvertX.

Open the Shopify Theme Editor
Choose the product template where the stories should appear.

Add the ConvertX Stories App Block
Select the Stories App Block in the product section.

Place the block
Stories usually work best near the top of the product page.

Save the theme
Verify the final position on the live storefront.

Troubleshooting

Check the ConvertX App Embed, the Stories App Block placement, the product targeting rules, and the saved Shopify theme.

Use vertical videos and preview the story layout on the real product page. Horizontal videos usually perform poorly in Stories.

Browser autoplay rules vary. Build Stories that still work visually when audio starts muted.

  • Use vertical videos
  • Keep each story short and clear
  • Place Stories close to the top of the product page
  • Use Stories to explain or prove, not to overload the page
